Fantasy Of The Month

1 (S&M)
21 September 1993
"Fantasy of the Month" was originally "Fantasy of the week", an echo in the first incarnation of MasqueNet. I thought I could rope other writers in that net into helping, but Loki was the only one who ever wrote anything for it; I couldn't keep that pace of inventiveness up by myself for long. As I write other odd bits of erotica, I might rename them as Fotm.whatever. This S&M-based one actually happened. Ah. Those were the days.

2 (Mayan)
29 September 1993
The perceptive reader will notice that Bruce Sterling's story Spook made quite an impression on me; this is another semi-related offshoot. A time traveller who goes back to ancient Mayan times, pretends to be the Corn Goddess Ixalva and meets a young man who's undergoing some kind of magic-mushroom-based initiation.

3 (Beach)
20 October 1993
On one level, this is a female-communing-with-the-sea-goddess thing. On another, it's just more scurrilous erotica. It's quite nicely written, though, in my opinion.

4 (Sybian)
February 1994
This is a rather embarassing, personal fantasy involving a friend who probably wouldn't have any trouble identifying herself if she read it but so far either hasn't read it or hasn't bothered to comment on it. "Sybian" is a real machine, although to the best of my knowledge she doesn't own one.

5 (Metasex)
25 March 1994
Based on the idea of what Metamorph sex would be like if these shapeshifters actually ever bothered to have physical relationships.

6 (Clothing)
Clothing fetish. The idea of the helmet filled with fluid sacs was taken from the aliens in the old Gerry Anderson TV series UFO, which I saw as a young child and which obviously warped me in a terrible way.

7 (Prostitute)
This is a bathetic, conceptual pratt-fall; the guy who goes to a sleazy brothel and hires a girl to come home with him and watch Star Trek: The Next Generation. Whoops. I've just given the ending away.

8 (Butterfly)
Clive Barker: Illustrator, page 39: Flirtation with a Moth.

9 (Spa)
Another two-person bathtub fantasy, set in a spa.

10 (Demin)
4 Nov 94
"Life with Dava"; more denim-jeans-clothing fetishism.

11 (Online Help)
07 Nov 93
Or, the fun an aritificial intelligence could have with video on-line help systems.

12 (Tolkene)
Tolkene is a chemical described in Days of the Underground (a work in progress); it's supposed to make your mental processes hard to follow. In this story someone tries to tell an erotic vampire story (which I'd been working on until someone pointed out how much like The Vampire Lestat it was) while under the influence of Tolkene. Scott Dorsey liked it.

13 (Alone)
This is what spending too much time in IRC will do to you.
